One of the leading anti-aging treatments currently on the market is Dysport, an effective, non-invasive treatment that prevents wrinkles wherever it’s injected. Dysport prevents wrinkles by blocking nerve impulses around the area it’s injected in. With nerve impulses blocked, the muscles around the area can no longer move – which in turn keeps wrinkles and fine lines from becoming more pronounced. Dysport’s main difference from Botox is its lifespan; typically, Dysport lasts longer than Botox for some patients.
Because Dysport can have lasting effects, it’s crucial that patients choose a doctor who is experienced and can administer it properly. A wrongly placed injection can cause a patient’s face to look stiff, unnatural, or even cause serious side effects. Dr. Gordon Kaplan has years of expertise using Dysport to prevent aging and wrinkles on his patients throughout New Jersey. His skill in the field allows the results to look natural and also feel as natural as possible.
At the Kaplan Center, we believe in offering professional, natural-looking results that help our patients get in touch with their true selves and help optimize your beauty. Our experienced staff members are dedicated to walking you through every step, answering questions promptly, therefore ensuring that you’re never left uninformed about what would happen to you during a procedure.
What Does Dysport Treat?
Dysport is typically used to smooth out fine lines and help prevent further wrinkling from happening. Most commonly, it’s used to treat frown lines between a patient’s eyebrows or forehead. However, it also can be used to treat the following issues:
- Glabellar Lines (11’s)
- Sagging skin underneath the eyes
- Crow’s feet
- Frown lines
- Facial asymmetry
What To Expect
Before your treatment, you should abstain from anti-inflammatory medications like Aleve or Motrin for at least 12 days. This prevents bruising in and around the affected area. The injections themselves are mostly painless and takes a minimal amount of time, usually within minutes.
After the injections, the area treated may be a bit swollen, but that will fade. You should keep your head elevated for at least 4 hours after the treatment. After that, you’re free to take a nap – but you should refrain from physical exercise for at least 24 hours.
