Let A Brow Lift Reinvent A Younger You
Growing up, I never paid much attention to my eyebrows or lips, but now they seem to be the two facial features that nobody can get enough of… myself included. Seriously, if your pout isn’t plumped and on point and your brows aren’t on fleek, chances are you’re so off trend… a.k.a. a place that none of us want to be!
While some lip-liner helps me fake it until I make it, when it comes to my unruly eyebrows, it’s a totally different story where almost no brow pencil can do the trick.
Typically, brow lift procedures help with the downward migration of the eyebrows as someone ages, but even if you’re a youngin’ like myself suffering from some drooping brows, a brow lift may just be the answer to your problems.
Depending on your individual conditions, Dr. Kaplan will determine which brow lift technique will provide you with the best results. Typically this procedure only takes about 2 hours to complete, but the results are long-lasting.
Benefits of a brow lift may revive your youthful appearance while eliminating deep frown or squint lines. You will have a more youthful and refreshing appearance.
Aside from drooping brows, brow lift procedure may also provide effective treatment for angry or tired appearance, horizontal lines across the forehead, and heavy upper eyelids.
Ideal candidates for a brow lift or forehead lift are individuals from NJ and NYC with inherited conditions, such as a low, heavy brow or furrowed lines above the nose can achieve a more alert and refreshed look with this procedure. A brow lift can be an effective way to refresh the appearance of those with frown lines and drooping eyelids. Most NJ and NYC patients opting for a brow lift surgery are between 40 and 50 years old, with brow lines and eyelids that have begun to sag noticeably and wrinkles or creases beginning to appear along the forehead.
There are many different techniques for performing a brow lift or a forehead lift. The choice of technique is determined on a case by case basis and each patient’s needs. Some include:
Coronal brow lift: A coronal brow lift is done by hiding an incision in the scalp, behind the hairline, that extends from ear to ear.
Hairline brow lift (trichial): A hairline brow lift (trichial) may be ideal for patients with very high foreheads, because the hairline will not be raised.
Temporal brow lift: Temporal brow lift can be performed if only a portion of the eyebrow needs to be raised.
Endoscopic brow lifts: Endoscopic brow lifts are performed through 3-5 small incisions hidden in the scalp, and avoids the large scar in the scalp, while preserving scalp sensation.
After a brow lift procedure, NJ and NYC patients experience some swelling and bruising in the forehead, head, or even the eye or cheek area. This is normal and can take up to a couple of weeks to resolve. Some patients may go back to work after a week, depending on their recovery and post-op evaluation by Dr. Kaplan. Your forehead and head will be loosely wrapped overnight, which further helps to minimize swelling. You may be given a prescription for pain medicine or antibiotics if needed by Dr. Kaplan, although most patients do not require much pain medicine after the first day or two. You will be able to shower and shampoo your hair within two days, or as soon as the bandage is removed.
