Microneedling in New Jersey
Over time, our skin becomes damaged due to sun exposure, aging, acne, and many other factors. Microneedling treatments can help to rejuvenate the skin and reverse the signs of damage.
Microneedling is a treatment that can be used to kickstart the body’s natural healing process, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, which helps to restore and rejuvenate skin on the face, neck, and body.
From our office in Edgewater, NJ, we’re proud to offer a variety of microneedling procedures for patients across New Jersey and New York. Please get in touch to learn more and schedule a consultation.
Is microneedling right for you?
During a microneedling procedure, we use a specialized device to create tiny punctures in the skin around the treatment area. This helps to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. And it’s the creation of new collagen and elastin that helps to restore the skin’s youthful, healthy glow. As such, microneedling can benefit anyone with the following concerns about their skin:
- Uneven skin tone
- Rough texture
- Age spots
- Sun damage or hyperpigmentation
- Dry skin
- Loose skin
- Acne and acne scarring
- Wrinkles and fine lines
- Scars
By stimulating the body’s natural healing process, microneedling promotes younger, firmer, smoother, and more luminous skin. It’s a minimally invasive treatment, with sessions lasting between 30 minutes to 1 hour. Plus, microneedling does not risk skin discoloration, so it is a safe treatment for people with darker skin tones.
At The Kaplan Center, we offer SkinPen by Crown Aesthetics for microneedling as it is FDA-cleared, has been clinically proven to give both men and women of all skin types great results, and is less abrasive than its alternatives.
Treatment options
Traditional Microneedling
During a standard microneedling treatment (i.e. without PRP) at The Kaplan Center, the SkinPen device is rolled along the skin to create micro-injuries. These tiny wounds stimulate the skin’s natural healing process to produce collagen and elastin, the natural proteins that keep the skin firm, smooth, and youthful.
Microneedling with the SkinPen can be paired with serums that add rejuvenating benefits when applied to the skin.
At The Kaplan Center, the cost of traditional microneedling:
- $400 per session
- $1050 for three sessions
Microneedling with PRP
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) can be added to microneedling treatments to promote skin cell growth and healing. Combined, these two treatments safely improve the skin’s texture by making it smoother and more even in tone.
Before the microneedling portion of your session, a member of our medical team will take a sample of your blood for the PRP collection. This blood will then be transferred to our lab for the separation process, where we create a serum of your regenerative cells.
The serum is then applied to the skin after the microneedling process. After the PRP is fully absorbed, we’ll clear away any leftover serum and cleanse the skin.
At The Kaplan Center, the cost of microneedling with PRP:
- $600 per session
- $1650 for three sessions
RF Microneedling
Adding radiofrequency (RF) energy to your microneedling treatment allows us to target deeper layers of the skin without significantly damaging the top layers.
RF microneedling with our Lutronics Genius machine applies heat deep into the skin to cause an inflammatory response that produces collagen and elastin.
The cost of RF microneedling depends on the areas you are having treated and the extent of the treatment:
1 Session | 3 Sessions | |
Whole Face | $1,200.00 | $3,000.00 |
Face & Neck | $1,700.00 | $4,000.00 |
Medium Treatment | $1,000.00 | $2,300.00 |
Light Treatment | $500.00 | $1,100.00 |
What results can I expect?
For the best results, microneedling typically requires three to four treatment sessions.
Most results are not immediate as the skin continues working to repair and heal itself, but patients usually see improvements within the first month, which gradually improve following each treatment session. Final results typically include improvement in the overall texture and appearance of the skin.
As the skin is a living organ, it will continue to change over time. As such, microneedling doesn’t offer permanent results, although the effects of each course of treatment should last up to six months. Many of our patients re-attend once or twice a year to maintain or boost their results.
Recovery
After a microneedling sessions, you may experience some minor side effects, such as swelling, redness, and bruising in the targeted area. This should dissipate within a day or two.
We recommend that patients avoid using makeup and exfoliating face washes, as well as swimming in chlorinated pools, for approximately 72 hours post-treatment. These activities can expose your treatment area to strong bacteria and chemicals, which could lead to adverse reactions.
You should also reduce exposure to the sun or use protective steps when going outside.
Finally, we recommend using Alastin Skincare products to complement the recovery process after a microneedling treatment and as part of your daily skincare routine.
