IPL New Jersey
BBL is a new light-based technology that has improved enormously to treat skin conditions associated with aging, active lifestyles, and sun damage.
Phototherapy – BBL Broadband Light™
BBL light energy allows the aesthetician to design the perfect treatments just for your skin, to be able to treat age and sun spots, small facial veins, and many other skin defects you might have. BBL phototherapy is a non-invasive treatment. Therefore, you can receive this treatment at any time to fit your schedule, even on a lunch break.
How Does BBL Work?
BBL deposits many pulses of light energy that heat the upper layers of your skin. Within the skin, the light energy is absorbed by some targets, such as thin, broken vessels that cause redness and brown spots or pigmented lesions that are caused by an overproduction of melanin. This process destroys the target, eliminating it from the skin and bringing back its natural beauty, blending its natural tones, making the skin vibrant and youthful in appearance and touch again.
What Conditions Can Be Treated With BBL?
- Pigmented Lesions (freckles, age spots, melasma)
- Vascular Lesions (small blood vessels, rosacea, and other micro-capillary flushing conditions)
- Acne
- Skin laxity
- Uneven Skin Texture
- Unwanted Hair
What Areas Can Be Treated?
Any area of your body can be treated with BBL. The most popular treatments are on the face, neck, hands, chest, and shoulders.
Can Tanned Skin Be Treated?
An active tan from tanning beds or the sun is not good for treatment with BBL. Tanned skin has a lot of pigmentation or melanin that may also absorb the BBL light energy intended for the hair follicles. You should not get have sun exposure in the area that will be treated for a period of 3 weeks prior to treatment. You should not use Self-tanners at least a week to 10 days before treatment.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
The number of treatments depends on your skin condition. The aesthetician will personalize a treatment plan just for your skin, based on the defects and the level of improvement you desire. Your aesthetician may also suggest combining your treatment with other popular aesthetic procedures to enhance the outcome further.
What Happens During The Procedure?
Your eyes will be protected by shields or glasses for safety. You may feel a warm sensation as the targeted areas absorb the light. Your procedure may take a few minutes to half an hour depending on the areas being treated and the type of procedure performed. Your aesthetician will discuss all of your options with you.
