Dysport New Jersey

One of the leading anti-aging treatments currently on the market is Dysport, an effective, non-invasive treatment that prevents wrinkles wherever it’s injected.

About Dysport

Dysport prevents wrinkles by blocking nerve impulses around the area that is injected. With nerve impulses blocked, the muscles around the area can no longer move – which in turn keeps wrinkles and fine lines from becoming more pronounced. Dysport’s main difference from Botox is its lifespan; typically, Dysport lasts longer than Botox for some patients.

Because Dysport can have lasting effects, it’s crucial that patients choose a doctor who is experienced and can administer it properly. A wrongly placed injection can cause a patient’s face to look stiff, and unnatural, or even cause serious side effects. Dr. Gordon Kaplan has years of expertise in using Dysport to prevent aging and wrinkles in his patients throughout New Jersey. His skill in the field allows the results to look natural and also feel as natural as possible.

What Does Dysport Treat?

Dysport is typically used to smooth out fine lines and help prevent further wrinkling from happening. Most commonly, it’s used to treat frown lines between a patient’s eyebrows or forehead. However, it also can be used to treat the following issues:

  • Glabellar Lines (11’s)
  • Sagging skin underneath the eyes
  • Crow’s feet
  • Frown lines
  • Facial asymmetry

What To Expect

Before your treatment, you should abstain from anti-inflammatory medications like Aleve or Motrin for at least 12 days. This prevents bruising in and around the affected area. The injections themselves are mostly painless and take a minimal amount of time, usually within minutes.

After the injections, the area treated may be a bit swollen, but that will fade. You should keep your head elevated for at least 4 hours after the treatment. After that, you’re free to take a nap – but you should refrain from physical exercise for at least 24 hours.
